East Coast Skiing vs. West Coast Skiing

East Coast Skiers can ski in the dark. West Coast skiers cannot. When I first heard this, I thought wait what?! I have skied in the Appalachians and the Rockies and have never realized this before, but after I thought about it...it makes sense! I have never attempted to ski in the Rockies in the dark (and I was pretty young) so I did not notice that there are not lights on the mountain.  No lights = no skiing. I am thankful the West Coast mountains do not have lights on the mountain because if they did I would be afraid of hitting a rock as I was skiing down.  So if you want to do some skiing at night, make sure you're on the RIGHT side!
